We’ve committed to supporting more family businesses through a newly announced partnership with The Family Business Network.
Founded in 2014, The Family Business Network has evolved across the UK and globally as a trusted community for collaboration and learning. They connect the family business community, providing an environment for learning and development through unique peer-to-peer opportunities and a programme of online and face to face events.
Dave Clarkson, Co-Director of The Family Business Network said, “Sagars have done a superb job of supporting clients in the family business sector for many years, and we hope that working together will allow us to bring additional opportunities and specialist support to family firms across Yorkshire, Humberside and the North East.”
John Beevers, Partner at Sagars said, “Sagars has been in business for 95 years and although technology, taxes and trends have changed since then, one thing that has remained constant is our dedication to family businesses. Over the years we’ve advised generations of family business owners on their decisions and provided support to help them achieve their life goals – expertise and experience that we’re eager to share with the Family Business Network community.”
Advisory Board Programme and The Yorkshire 10 Peer Group
For the past six months, some of the Sagars team have been working closely with The Family Business Network on their Advisory Board Programme. The programme offers family businesses without a formal board structure the opportunity to benefit from Director-style support from a group of experienced business people.
Joel Topham, Business Advisory Partner at Sagars said, “I might be an Accountant, but I know that family businesses aren’t simply about the bottom line. There are lots of interesting elements at play in family firms, which is what makes them so interesting to work with. I’m really grateful to The Family Business Network for the opportunity to get more involved in supporting their members. Building on my contribution to the Advisory Board programme, I’m looking forward to getting involved in The Yorkshire 10 peer group and helping more family businesses find solutions to their challenges, fulfil their potential and achieve success.”
Dave Clarkson added, “The insight that Joel and the Sagars team have acquired through working alongside the family business community via the Advisory Board Programme and our Peer Groups gives them a deeper understanding, that will inform on their own service offering to their family business clients.
The Family Business Network are currently seeking family businesses based within Yorkshire and The Humber who may be interested in participating in the Yorkshire 10 peer group to work together for mutual support and development. The fully-funded programme will commence in early November and interested parties should email The Family Business Network to express their interest.
