Undergraduate summer placement
If you’re wondering whether a career in accountancy is for you, doing a summer placement is a great idea. We’re looking for an undergraduate to join the business client department in our award winning team for a minimum of 6 weeks during the summer of 2019. We’ll pay you for your time, it’ll look great on your CV and you’ll get a real insight in to what being an accountant is all about. Perhaps even better than all of that, we recruit new graduates every year so impress us on your placement and this could be a foot in the door for your long-term career with us. The average length of service at Sagars is around 12 years… we figure we must be doing something right!

Graduate training programme (ACA)

Successful candidates will gain quality work experience with us whilst studying for the ACA qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) under a Level 7 Accounting Professional Apprenticeship. Throughout your training contract you’ll have your own mentor and you can expect the full support of our award-winning team. You’ll get the very best technical training and early responsibility with practical experience across a wide range of audit, accounting and tax work in a progressive firm that’s embracing the latest technological developments and is a recognised cloud accounting leader.
The average length of service across our team is 12 years - testament to the flexible and supportive working environment that we’ve created. Two of our current partners and many of our senior managers joined us as graduates - proof of the excellent career prospects that exist for the right people.
To guarantee the very best technical and personal levels of service, we’re looking for up to six high calibre graduates with the drive and personality to help us meet our clients’ needs. Competition is tough and you’ll need a minimum ABB at A level (or equivalent) and a 2:1 degree classification (in any discipline) to be considered.
We offer paid study leave, a standard 35-hour week, generous flexi time arrangement, pension scheme contributions and a competitive salary - and we pay all course and exam fees.
